RIP

This is the first Korg ad to run on Pointy, coming as it does from the days of the floor-based multi-effects unit. At this point Pantera were at an extended peak of success having just released what would become their third consecutive platinum album, Far Beyond Driven. (Its ’96 follow-up, The Great Southern Trendkill would be a fourth.) And Dimebag Darrell—who as in the previous ad was still referred to as “Diamond Darrell”—was at his most visible: This is the back cover of Guitar World, April 1994—an issue that also featured him on the cover (where he was called “Dimebag”).
