Onetime Fleetwood Mac member and Steve Marriott sideman Bob Weston has died at 64. One of the more obscure guitarists in the long line of FM, his work was nonetheless important. As Gibson’s website summarizes:

Weston joined Fleetwood Mac in late 1972 as a replacement for troubled guitarist Danny Kirwan. His contributions to the band’s 1973 albums, Penguin and Mystery to Me, were formidable, featuring outstanding slide guitar as well as accomplished harmonic playing and banjo work.
