The Dunlop Blog is running an article on the devoted users of their famous pointy pick. “Inside the Cult of Jazz III” features commentary from such aficionados as recent convert Kirk Hammett and longtime users Eric Johnson, and Mick Thomson. John Petrucci, quoted in Guitar One, says of the triangular plectrum:
It’s very conducive to playing fast; that is, it doesn’t give way, or antagonize what you’re doing. The point just glides on the strings, and it sounds very precise with lots of clarity.
