The indispensable Effects Bay is running an interview with Julian Marrs, mastermind of Vancouver-based Marrs Pedals. The discussion ranges from the future of the company to the specifics behind the Fuzz Light Year pedal:
I value a pedal that you can use your feet to change the settings with, and small knobs in small boxes don’t cut it in that department. I essentially tried to juggle all the complaints that my musician friends and I had about most pedals and put the solutions into a box.
Julian also tells Effects Bay that the unit even sounded good when a friend ran a bassoon (!) through it.

That looks like a good solid fuzz box that a live guitarist could use. It sounds good but it’s maybe priced a little too high for just a hobby guitarist.
Hi There,
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve upgraded the Fuzz Light Year. You can see the new demo here: http://vimeo.com/33462867
Gary, thanks for your comments. I don’t mass produce these pedals – They are all handmade/painted with high quality components. $200 is priced a little low when you compare it to similar pedals.
All the best,
Julian Marrs
