Joe Satriani’s supergroup Chickenfoot is set to release their second album, Chickenfoot III. (Yes, III.) Satch has previewed the album’s ten tracks at Music Radar, running down the equipment used as well as describing the songs’ origins. The creative process with bandmates Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith seems to suit him well. As he notes about the rhythm section:
In my other career, I spend a lot of the time playing melodies and solos. In Chickenfoot, I get to play a lot on the low strings of my guitar, which I do enjoy. Being real deep in the pocket is so cool, and it’s really great when you can find that place with Mike and Chad.
