Many of us probably became familiar with the name Joe Gore during his tenure at Guitar Player. Gore’s story is an interesting one that leads from journalism to recording to software development at Apple. He explained to Guitar-Muse in a recent interview how he left the world of academia for the “real world”:

I finally dropped out with a mere Masters so I could play in bands for the first time in my mid-20s. I was morbidly overdeveloped as a theoretician, but needed catching up on a lot of things that most musicians take for granted.
