Sepultura in the studio

I recall learning of Sepultura in about 1989, stumbling across a vinyl copy of their third album, Beneath the Remains, emblazoned with a sticker reading, “Brutal death metal from the heart of the Brazilian jungle.” How could one not listen? Now, more than 20 years later, Andreas Kisser and company are still churning out releases. From Blabbermouth:
SEPULTURA has tapped Roy Z. (JUDAS PRIEST, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON, HELLOWEEN) to produce the group’s new CD, tentatively due in May via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD is once again being recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil.
Expat founders, Max and Igor Cavalera, are also still going strong with Cavalera Conspiracy.

Max and Igor, the brothers Cavalera, have readied Blunt Force Trauma, the second album from their Cavalera Conspiracy project. Elder sibling Max—guitarist for Sepultura and Soulfly—has co-produced the effort. According to Noisecreep:
Filling out the lineup for Blunt Force Trauma are guitarist Marc Rizzo of Soulfly and Fireball Ministry bassist Johny Chow, replacing Joe Duplantier, who was unable to juggle the band’s touring demands with that of his other band, Gojira.
