The Teckpick plectrum is still in production today, offered in brass and aluminum by Dunlop. When this ad ran in Guitar for the Practicing Musician‘s, Guitar Classics IV in 1991, though, the pick was only available in aluminum. The copy offers info along with picking exercises by Dave Creamer, who is known for being a mentor to the likes of Joe Satriani, Jason Becker, and Tuck Andress.

Freewill is a band that somehow entirely escaped my detection in the ’80s. They had Dean Markley’s attention at least long enough to merit this full-page ad in Guitar for the Practicing Musician‘s special edition, Guitar Classics IV ca. 1991. A quick YouTube search reveals guitarists Matt Diggs (pictured) and Steev Dinkins to be skillful, tasty players.
