I have an early Tour 24 with a Wonderbar as well as a 1995 Charvel that I put one on. Neither one will dive as far down as a Floyd. The Tour 24 won't uptune, and it goes down seven steps on the low E string (only 3 steps on the high E). The Charvel will uptune four steps on the low E, and will only downtune five steps. So no, they won't dive like a Floyd.

I had one back in the 1980s. I was rhythm guitarist in a metal band. Our singer/lead guitarist had an Aria Pro II with a Wonderbar. He could dive bomb all the way down until several strings were slack (maybe all of them, I can't remember though) but he always complained about the locking nut.

Inspired by him, I had a Wonderbar put on my cheap guitar and had a graphite nut and locking tuners put on it. It stayed in tune perfectly 97.5% of the time, even with heavy use, but I couldn't divebomb all the way on any string.

Most of my guitars are hardtails but I want just one with a high performance vibrato. I am tempted to look into the wonderbar again, on the assumption that might not have been adjusted correctly. I just wanted to get your input. Does yours divebomb all the way down on any string or all of them?

Yeah, but Amir Derakh! I need to find that GPFTPM poster I had from him in the 80s. His hair was out of countrol, he had on an acid-washed blue denim trench coat and had a double-necked Charvel painted like a warplane. Every time I would look at that, I knew what the true meaning of "Rocket Sauce" was.
