Longtime Guitar Player guru Jas Obrecht has a killer blog where he waxes on the things important to him. One such topic is David Lee Roth-era Van Halen. An early champion of the band and the man himself, Obrecht describes a chance meeting with Eddie Van Halen in 1978. On a backstage basketball court at Bill Graham Day on the Green, Obrecht had just been blown off by Pat Travers and discovered with whom he was shooting hoops.
